Bin joined the Beijing office of Siemens Venture Capital as senior analyst in Jul 2016. Along with the VC team in China, he is dedicated to bringing Siemens industrial expertise to support Chinese innovation driven by promising hi-tech startups, in fields such as energy, industrial automation, sustainable mobility, etc.
Preceding his role in Siemens, Bin worked in Total, an international energy company with multiple business operations in China. He coordinated and managed a number of collaborative research projects between Total and Chinese academic partners in new energy. In addition, Bin worked in Total corporate venture team for actively scouting and reviewing investment opportunities in competitive early-stage companies in energy and petrochemical industries.
Bin obtained his Ph.D in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with focus in renewable fuels and water technologies. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor and a master of Engineering from Tsinghua University.
